The lake derives its waters from melting snow of the mountains, a beautiful sight to witness. Earlier, the lamas used to study the colour of water and predict the future, a darker colour would indicate troublesome time in the coming year. Despite the colour that flows in the lake on your visit, the view of the lake and the surrounding mountains would surely leave a lasting impression.

He died in 1968 and the shrine was made to honour his wishes (he requested one of his friends in the dreams, for a Samadhi to be made for him). It is also believed that he guards the international boundary between India and China, and protects the people. Many people also hold the belief that the place has a healing spirit, and a bottle of water left there, could cure illness after consumption.

After returning back to Gangtok, you could explore the town and shop from the local market on your own.

Later, return to the hotel, enjoy a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
